Spinal manipulation therapy usage needs a science-based paradigm shift it will  be discussed.
During the workshop it will be shown and practiced HVLA thrust manipulation techniques of the upper quadrant (i.e. C1-2, mid cervical, CTJ and upper thoracic). Details on the best available assessment technique will be also be provided.

Objectives

  • Knowing the most recent guidelines that recommend spinal manipulation as part of a multimodel program for managing most common musculoskeletal disorders.

  • The participants will understand a new model in order to use spinal manipulation in a science-based manner based on a modern understanding of manual therapy mechanisms.

  • Using a science-based thrust manipulation delivery will help practitioners of spinal manipulative therapy in the selection of the appropriate technique based on the best available external evidences, the practitioner expertise and the patient expectation/ preferences in order to enhance the effectiveness of the thrust manipulation usage inside a multimodel care management.
