Don’t stop moving, you need movement to stay healthy.
• Build the exercises into their daily routine so you can do them regularly. • Advice them to do the exercises on six days each week with one day off. • They don’t have to do all exercises straight away – make them start with one or two exercises and the build in the third when they get confident. • Give them a printed copy of the exarcises or a video record on their phone include the details in (How many repetitions, sets, how to progress and regress each exercise) • If one particular movement causes more pain, then don’t use it as an exercise and use it each as a test if you are improving and getting better. • Patients must be patient! It may be 4 -12 weeks before you see a big change in your pain so you need to stick with it. • General exercise can really help so advice your patients to keep going with other activities they enjoy to keep fit.
